Better link, since the Geocities site died immediately.

You know, for a car that's probably hand built, $12,300 isn't all that bad.

If I lived near a beach this might be more interesting.

Great news for Jamaica (my family's home). It may seem like nothing much to the "first world" but it's good to see.

Hand built? Here's a Hummer made out of wood (w/ video). Hummer: The Truck for Jerks.

"It's an Island Cruiser! Why, you could literally cruise the islands with it!"

Much as I think the success of the Hummer is born out of compensation for other things, it's hard not to see that AdAge not being shaped by compensation for not being able to afford one.

Oh well, at least AdAge admits the review is completely biased right at the beginning...

jamaica could produce a great deal of items other than giant spliffs and bob marley records and be just as successful, it's a place with a huge amount of goodwill towards it, like scotland of course.
In fact , Scotland should twin with Jamaica.

Before a year ago, I would have shrugged and moved on. I haven't been to Jamaica, but if the roads and transport are anything like they are in the Virgin Islands, there is a real need for this little car.

The USVI is crawling with little Geo Trackers and Suzuki X90s (which is a purple, three-cylinder hair-dryer. It had 4 wheel drive but I can't imagine it working) and they seem to be the only vehicles worth having there.

Short version - there's a real market out there for these island cruisers.

I would LOVE to see Jamaica export a ton of these things and make a killing. Hell, I wouldn't mind having one here in Dallas.
