Wasn't the Pentagon supposed to handle this?

Well, I'd be able to find some good posts if all these iraq link posters would just go suck themselves off in the corner. They'd satisfy themselves, and everyone else'd be happy too.

But hey, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Though I must note there's some decent links today. Allow me to shrink away now.

Yeah, angry modem, I'll do that.

You and Britney can sit back and trust.
"Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens. "

It's what being American is all about, right?

maybe we need request.metafilter.com - "I'd love to see a post linking Saddam Hussein to Henry Ford and the Beatles, and then maybe a flash animation with a dog and some bananas and Biz Markie singing Spring again."

great link, ahimsakid...worthy of a fpp i think...iraq and Wicked rolled into one.

Wicked? I think you are inferring your own agenda on this:

At this session, the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs will host approximately 15 "Free Iraqis" and several international experts for continued discussion of the current state of Iraq’s oil and energy sector; scenarios for the repair and restoration of the oilfields and other essential energy infrastructure; and ways to address management of the energy sector to best meet the needs of the Iraqi people.

Sounds to me that, if they are honestly "addressing ways to best meet the needs of the Iraqi people" as they say, then they are quite the opposite of wicked. The State Department didn't shoot any Iraqis. Oh, I suppose it would be better if the Iraqis just didn't get their only source of income back up and running? Just so long as Bush and his wicked cronies don't get to help them do it. Look, I don't like Bush, I don't like how screwed up Iraq is because of what he did there, but at least somebody (mostly a bunch of liberal academic types) is trying to fix it here somewhat, no?

Pollo: Sounds to me that, if they are honestly "addressing ways to best meet the needs of the Iraqi people" ??

It would be great if none of the "15 free Iraquis" mentioned in the State Dept release were related to our hand-picked puppet Chalabi. The INC folks, it should be clear by now, are the puppets who intend to be first at the trough. "Chalabi is running around Washington, D.C. promising oil executives that the U.S will control the lion's share of Iraq's massive reserves ... "
Anyone remember a year ago? "The Future of Iraq Group, a task force set up at the State Department, does not have oil on its list of issues, a department spokesman said last week."
