Nothing beats the vending machine beer that I drank in Venice, Italy. You got love 100ml of beer for about $.50.

If "put money in, get something out" is the definition of a vending machine then British gas meters beat Skybox to "first vending machine in the home" by a long, long time.

My physics teacher has a vending machine for number two pencils in his classroom that he built and patented twenty five years ago when he started teaching... He claims to have made more than $9,000 since then.

My favorite vending machine was in a restaurant bathroom in a local hotel. It sold breath mints, condoms, and Tylenol. Someone had written above the product labels "before," "during," and "after."

If I was going to put a vending machine in my house, I surely wouldn't choose one that operates "without coins or dollar bills." It'd be a good way to make my friends pay for their Cokes and Miller High Life.
