Should read Rod Roddy dead at the believed age of 66.

Did he hail from parts unknown?

He will be missed. I spent many a youthful morning exuberantly displaying my uncanny market knowledge under his guiding hand.

soap was cool! what was that show, "______ Tonight", a fake talk show hosted by ???? (accomplished guitarist but not well known as such) and co-hosted by ???? (the same guy who played herb tarlick on WKRP). best tv evar. that show was so great i can't remember a thing about it (which in those days, meant i really enjoyed it).

on preview a dank musty name surfaces from the depths of q's memory: the host was martin mull

Fernwood Tonight. Successor to Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. Both wonderfully bizarre shows. Both products of Norman Lear.

Did he hail from parts unknown?

He was single and his only relative, mother, died a few years ago (says the article). Maybe that situation- no living relatives- has caused a bit of confusion.

I'm so sad. The Price is Right is, like, the quintessential game show, and Rod Roddy was an integral part of the insane, one-of-a-kind atmosphere it had.

It's too bad. I love that show. And those jackets he wore.

I was really mad at Rod Roddy for a long time after he didn't call me down when I went to a taping of the Price is Right. My only regret now is that he died without knowing that I forgave him. He probably didn't know I was mad at him. Actually, yesterday my only regret was that Rod Roddy didn't know how mad at him I was for not calling me down. RIP Rod.
