Did you think about buying tickets to the one day showing of all three LOTR movies? It would have been a good investment.

The one day screenings were previously discussed here.

You can still clean up by buying up bulk lots of adult diapers and hawking them to LOTR trilogy goers who don't want to leave their seats to go to the bathroom.

* BTW I'd read LOTR a dozen times by the time I was 12, but still... *

alms, I believe the spirit of this post was more in the Ebay link provided, not the event itself.

Of course, this is a pet peeve of many others.

When is the official release date? I'd remember, but I'm just a hairy moose.

one of those theaters needs to do a "drinks are free until the first person has to go" sorta deals. That would be funny.

I'm still holding my breath for GhostBusters Three... Hey! Time's gonna prove me right on this one!

Ghostbusters 3 is/was held up by Bill Murry, just FYI :)

He says he not sure he wants to do another.

Almost as good an investment as having a metafilter username.

Just for future posterity's sake (since these auctions will undoubtedly end very soon), the tickets are going for about $300 a pair -- even for screenings in Iowa. Never underestimate the financial resources (or free evenings) of geeks.

sinical: Check out trioperative ("a slight stigma of stupidity")'s joining date - interesting.

No sign of any trilogy screenings in London -- shame.
