Deepleap reborn Can I be the first to post this? (I never seem to have anything 'new' to add to MeFi!).
From I Love Ben Brown.
It would seem that Ben is picking himself up - this time with a Business Plan too!

I'm am so astoundingly pleased Ben's done this.

I mean, not to sound like the standard Rockstar-addled fanboy, but wow this is just so utterly cool.

Deepleap was a pretty darn good idea, but it wasn't something I used regularily. I don't know why, I'm weird like that.

This, however, breaks any kind of restrictions I felt when using it. In oh so many ways, too. I mean, not only can I go and muddle with the interface if I so choose, unless I drastically misunderstood something, Ben's blowing the entire structure wide open, so people have a solid foundation to build from.

If I'm properly interpreting it, which I think I am, Ben's got something massive he's about to share with everyone.

Wow, that is so utterly cool. Congrats Ben. My socks have been knocked to pieces.

I hope it lives up to your expectations. I'm pretty pleased with how things have gone so far -- I'm trying to make the system as open as possible. Applications in the box will be able to communicate with each other so more powerful applications can be built by combining several others. (ie, any application can save to the bookmark file) And I'm going to be handling the icky stuff -- data storage, data management, all that junk, so that the developers can just handle making cool tools. AND, the app development environment is gonna be much more robust, allowing you to pull data from remote scripts, HNB itself, or form fields within your app. It's gonna be pretty crazy.

I'm glad ... I've already resurrected my experimental sandbox over at Backflip, but it's not the same. Now I can start juggling some of those ideas I was having again. (Not that I'm a crack JS coder or anything.)
