At first I thought "virtual playa" was going to be a "gangsta simulator", as in "yo baby, don't hate the virtual playa, hate the game". Too bad it's only about Burning Man.

I thought the same as todbot. Despite having been to BM 3 times & going to Black Rock this April to check it out sans crazy types...

If I don't like this post, does that make me a "playa hata"?

It's pronounced "ply-ya".

Here's a picture (326k jpg) I took at Burning Man from the surrounding hillside this past year.. 50,000 people camped out on the Playa.

i_cola, Black Rock desert was for me a bigger highlite than Burning Man. I spent a few days traveling along the jeep trails and playa and recommend taking a 4x4, GPS and mapping software and 2 spare tires. Also check into the mud condition of the Playa in April.

thanks much, crunchland. this is pretty awesome. i've contacted Andrew to see if he'll let me add the basic starter files to Download.com. we'll see.

speaking of Burning Man (i know this isn't the most burner-friendly community in the world), i just got the ticket/theme info in the mail this weekend. i'm pretty excited for this year's theme--expecting lots of celestial wonders (and hoping against hope for no UFO scooters).

only 204 days - WOOHOO!
