Peercast is good and usually works quite well - however, not many people use it (or know about it), and it's the kind of system that really improves the more people there are online to forward streams. So get online, folks, and make the most of it!

Does anyone know of a better solution to peerCast for budding Internet personalities?

As an alternative there's Streamer P2P. Both could do with someone with a bit of UI smarts to improve them for ordinary users, but I guess it's early days yet.
