Would someone please explain to me why anyone would want to play a computer game based on "The Blair Witch Project"?

8 reasons:
1. Insanity.
2. Maybe some sort of sexual thing.
3. They like the typeface on the box.
4. There are apes in it.
5. If you hold the CD up to the light there are pictures of naked women.
6. Grainy blackness makes the person horny.
7. It's really scary. And scaryness makes the person horny.
8. The picture on the front cover reminds someone of how good it feels to be strapped to something. Which makes them horny.

Because it's just like the movie, only now the characters have guns. I bet the movie would've been much cooler if they'd all had guns. Shorter, but cooler.

Maybe the 3D effects will make them more nauseous than the shaky, low quality, big screen camera work.

I liked the movie. I'll probably give the game a go. I know I'm in the minority but that's never stopped me before.

Let's see...

Interesting backstory...
Good developers with a good history of game development.
An Independant publishing company with an excellent track record.
A rich backstory with lots of room for expansion.
And, ultimately, I'll give it a try because the movie just plain creeped me out. If they can capture the spine-tingling feeling I felt in the theatre and make it so this time I'm the one holding the camera, they'll deserve my money.

Oh yeah, and as a perk, beautiful graphics.

Because it's really, really, really scary.

Q3 and UT already give me motion sickness. With Blair Witch, I might as well barf like a pro. Let's hope it comes with dramamine.

BTW, cCranium, isn't GOD the company that published Jazz Jackrabbit 2, KISS and Heavy Metal 2, right? Nocturne and Age of Wonders were good, but there's enough ass in GOD's catalog to keep me from calling them excellent.

Of course, I'm not really a fan of just about anyone who's connected with the whole id/ION/Dallas game industry ego fest. Just my 2p.

I haven't seen Heavy Metal 2, but uhh... you got me on those other ones.

Still though, I encourage GOD. They're independant to a degree, so they're willing to use their publishing strength to help out games and companies that would otherwise be unable to see any shelf time, therefore making more possibilities for us, the consumer.

They're like the SubPop of gaming. :-)
