Blah blah blah liberal, Bush hating Mefi, blah blah blah, I don't care

Paul Krugman spells out the insanity of the Bush Administration simply, sweetly, inarguably. Blah blah blah liberal, Bush hating Mefi, blah blah blah, I don't care. This administration is so utterly dishonest, and our current press corps so disgustingly subserviant that I really don't care how bad an FPP this is. Krugman doesn't lie no matter what that idiot Donald Luskin says. Someone point me to a real, honest, defensible source that says Krugman's utter destruction of just about everything Bush is wrong. In my opinion, he along with Bob Somerby are lonely voices in a vast wilderness. Blah blah blah, liberal mefi crap blah blah blah

I really don't care how bad an FPP this is.

We, on the other hand, do. You may have contempt for the Bushites (I'm with you there), but must you also display contempt for the community?

[this is bad]

basically I don't give two shits how biased my FPP is. Someone point out how Krugman is wrong. That is my challenge. Otherwise, keep your "liberal bias" mouth shut.

Or, matt could simply delete this thread. Either way.

The sad thing is, it looks like a good graph, McBain, and I actually agree with your politics here, and the posting of the alternative viewpoint was even somewhat chivalrous. Why the other crapola and display of contempt when courtesy would have made this a decent FPP?

I'm the last one to talk nonsense about 'liberal bias'. No one mentioned that except you, McBain.

Meta.

Because no matter how it was phrased, there would have been "More Bush bashing!" talk. I'm really tired of that, so I'm heading it off by saying "I don't care, don't bother".

I think the point is sound and I'm not trying to be rude. But I'm really sick of people saying "Bushfilter", "Outragefilter" blah blah blah....

I want to co-opt this community website to further my own agenda! I hate squirrels, and it's time you all hated squirrels with me!!! Anyone who doesn't hate squirrels, I don't care, blah, blah, blah!!

Jonson, yes, I've totally terrorized and co-opted this community!!! All your base are belong to us!

I never intended to disrespect people here, I just wanted to head off bullshit mefi conservative apathy that didn't directly address the points made.

Yes a Krugman column is probably not the greatest FPP. I wanted to share my feelings though and this is an outlet for me.

Fuck it, be rude. I'm with you McBain. I don't care who you voted for, what political persuation you are or whether or not you thought Clinton was the second coming. Bush and his cronies are wrong, cynical and the worst thing that has happened to the USA since, since.....well shit, I haven't been around long enought to think of anything else American made that has been this bad. I've felt pretty hopeless about politics and the "direction" of the general populous and collective political thought since the chads were found hanging.

At this point, I say by any means neccesary.

"Sharing our feelings" is not what mefi is for, certainly not what an FPP is for. That's why we have friends/partners/spouses/pets/mirrors/therapists. Mefi is not your outlet, dude.

Then you and I see the purpose of arguing fruitlessly on the internet totally differently.

Wow, you really did a good job of that, I mean. I mean the conversation is totaly on topic with no bitching about anything!

This made me laugh.

Maybe people should think about the culture they've created that made me post in such a distrustful manner? :-)

I think the main issue with this FPP is that FPPs should not come pre-opinionated. Telling everybody what their opinion is going to be before we get a chance to RTFA preemptively destroys the discussion and makes you look like an insensitive clod. Posting your feelings on conservative rhetoric would be more appropriate in the discussion and not the description of the FPP.

However, I agree with the FPP whole-heartedly. It was just lacking in tact.
