hot steamy xxx action. "It just happened,''; "The encounter lasted just a few seconds. That's all that happened.''; "There was contact"; "It's incomprehensible just thinking that the president of the greatest and strongest and most beautiful democracy in the world would dirty his hands..."; "I understand chance encounters, but this is..."; "One can only think that the same stupidity made him [Clinton] have sex with Monica Lewinsky,"; "Was it SATISFACTORY for both partners?"

How does Clinton do it? He gets all the ACK-SHUN.

Ohh, and "As for Castro, who has privately called Clinton "a good boy," he left the Wednesday luncheon to deliver a scathing address on the evils of wealthy nations."

While we're on the subject of His Lameduckness, here's a photo screaming for a caption.

Booorrrriiiiiinnnnnggggg! Geez, all this tedious political claptrap reminds me why I stopped reading Usenet. It's like a pack of six year-olds arguing over who gets to have the "good blankie".

Not the handshake! Anything but that! Is it the apocalypse?

aramaic... it's an election year. What do you expect from a group of generally intelligent people?

The article quotes Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Florida Republican as saying, "I understand chance encounters, but this is in keeping with the [Clinton administration's] appeasement of Fidel Castro and that's why it worries us."

Whatever. Shaking hands is appeasement? So Clinton is a friendly guy with a natural impulse to shake someone's hand. Whoop.

Once again the cuban expats are up in arms over something trivial enough it should never have gotten in the news in the first place. I guess we know how much potential for rational exploration of alternatives to the current Cuba policy exists down in Miami. Are they honestly demanding that the U.S. president not even be allowed to extend common courtesy to the Cuban president? That personal rudeness be demanded of the president, as a matter of U.S. foreign policy? Geez, what's next - demanding that American officials travelling to "bad" countries refrain from bathing, as a silent, odiferous protest against those countries' human rights policies? It would make about as much sense...

"It's an election year.". This is true, and a valid point. However, there is a difference between quality political discourse, and vacuous sparring. It's like some freakish form of monomania turned into a competition -- who can post the most obtuse political link?

What I love is that bizarre tacked-on thing at the end saying Castro 'privately called Clinton "a good boy"'... WTF? Where do you get a source for something like that, and why would you print it (except, obviously, to imply that Castro considers Clinton to be his good boy and communist pawn-- right, whatever). What could that possibly mean (other than that Castro's English is shaky) and how could it ever be relevant to anything?

Why did this dumb story even get any exposure? First guess-- this was on FOX News, and FOX is owned by conservative mogul Rupert Murdoch...

>>First guess...<<

Wrong guess. Sorry, no Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy here. This story has been published everywhere.
