Vice-Presidential Nominee Dick Cheney Didn't Vote in 14 of the 16 Last Elections. I am not for either side yet, but for me this does not help the Elephants one bit. Why should I even consider voting for Dick when a he dosen't even take the time to participate in our democracy?

So.Voting is irrational. (You will need to scroll a fair way down the page, there is a better book about this, but no link)If you were a rational person you would not vote anyway. Can anyone tell me when their vote in a major election actually influenced the result?

Perhaps he didn't vote because of lack of quality choices.

In which case, I assume he won't be voting this time round either.

I think his service in Congress and as Secretary of Defense may count as at least a few points toward the "participating in our democracy" stat.

Work or service done for the good of this nation should not be confused with participating in a democracy. That's just plain old work that we should be greatful for. And I am. Democracy is when we as citizens vote for our representatives and government leaders.
