Nice site, thanks (I hope they get that museum online)! I once spent some time in Morocco, where people would make oud/guitar hybrids from empty 1 gallon metal olive oil cans, with a length of wood for the neck, and strings made from unwound and straightened bicycle brake cable strands. They sounded very good.
