Creative, probably not on purpose, trailer trash.

Mmmmm.... Can't help but feel that the time taken to amass this site's content and put it online might have been better spent reading a book.

Reminded me of chavscum but without the thought provoking questions about the legacy of the class system.

The site feels like one big long sneer.

JOKE:
Why spend all that money on having your trailer moved by a professional when you could just do it yourself?!

PUNCHLINE:
Because they don't have any money!!

[this is mean-spirited]

Yeah but the creativeness shown by some of these trailer owners is amazing.

HAHAHAHAHA! They're POOR! HAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah. I found this disapointing. I have nothing against mean-spirited humor, but this just isn't funny. It needs more ZING! This really could've been worth a few laughs if properly worked over.

a young Elwood actually lived in his grandparents two doublewides that were connected by a moded shed. It was really quite confortable. When his grandfather made some money later in life, he bought a nicer trailer and located further up the hill and rented out the old trailer.

Generally not funny. This photo is oddly beautiful, though.

Stupid site, using a no-right click script no less (which has the nice effect of completely disabling my mouse for some fucking reason, as though I did not hate the fucking hacks to begin with), all in all I would like to take the owner and run him down with a fucking trailer.

I like this one.

The photos I liked from the site were, pictures of making a porch roof out of a truck hood, the strange painting of trailers and the structures that included trailers. People have done some quirky things with house trailers. And people who have the resources to clean up their yard sometimes dont because they don't care.

The guy made a disclaimer about how he is not making fun of poor people and i really didnt see it that way, sorry so many of you did. Most of you probably are from the city and dont even know a single person who lives in a trailer.

I have been driving around the country lately and just looking around because I am going to be moving from my hometown soon. There are trailers all over the place... nice ones to crappy ones. I kind of like the way they decorate the country side.

A person who paints their trailer to look like a nascar or runs a restaurant with a school bus attaced to it for the kitchen deserves to be laughed at.

Wrong. But leaving aside the blunt ain't-one-of-us-ism:

The guy may have "made a disclaimer about how he is not making fun of poor people" but come on, you can't be serious. Did you read the captions? They're clearly poking fun. Nothing wrong with that! Believe you me, I got no problem making fun of people. But it should either actually be funny, or make a point.

And that's maybe the core of my problem - the photos themselves betray the site. There's no people in them, they're all from far away - in short it looks like someone thought it would be funny to drive out into trailerland, take pictures from the car, and drive home to post it on the web for amusement.

So, if it's trying to make fun, admit it and be funny. If it's trying to illustrate a culture, get out of the car and talk to someone. What do the insides of those trailers look like? Don't just sneer as you go by and pretend not to.

And frankly, someone who "runs a restaurant with a school bus attaced to it for the kitchen deserves to be laughed at"? Really? I call that making do.

I don't see how this can possibly not be understood as making fun of poor people. And I know a lot of people who live or have lived in trailers, although I'm not totally sure why that's relevant.

This guy can make all the disclaimers he wants, but he's still calling people "trash" largely based on their socioeconomic class. Fun for everyone.

(sniffs) Mobile homes? (coughs) Trailers? Hhmmph. I live in a manufactured home in an estate - no trailer trash here ...

(except my next door neighbor)

This weekend I had an estate auction, my double wide farm property and about all of its contents. There was a couple who bought random stuff for like a dollar, that believe me they probably didnt need. They just had this longing for useless junk. They were nice people and all but i gathered from the way that they left here, with three loads of my old crap that thier place is probably full of junk sitting around everywhere. I had a generator for a 1950 tractor that had been sitting outside in dirt for 10 years. The guy asked me if he could have it.
They werent poor they were just rednecks. As are most people who are deemed trailer trash, at least where i come from.

Translation: Laugh at people who are different, who have different taste than I do. They deserve it.

More trailer park goodness. Possibly NSFW. And definitely offensive.

I think I have seen the third photograph on this page before. If so, then it's not a cheap trailer home, but a very expensive modernist design modular home (aka trailers for the rich).

There is a fine line between finding the humour in a different way of living and just plain laughing at people because they are different. This guy (I assume) has crossed that line.

I guess when you have s.f.a. and little opportunity to make enough money to afford anything, you take what 1950 tractor generators you can find. Material possessions are, after all, the American Dream.

The guy is a fucknozzle, no doubt about it. I clicked the link and felt the same way a lot of you do. This has all the tact of some snickering, pointing 10 year old on a playground and I saw no humor in any of it. Believe it or not, this is the way some people get by and they're damn happy. Can't fault that.

Oh, he has a disclaimer? Nevermind......

People, I live in Missouri. St. Louis is on one end. Kansas City is on the other. Meth labs and trailers in between. Consider this guy's site a documentary.
