Tigers bite back. Endangered Sumatran tigers have taken the destruction of their habitat into their own mouths by killing three & mauling several other illegal loggers.

cool. now people in countries that use way over their share of the earth's natural resources can post smug comments to a weblog and feel good that a couple of poor guys trying to get food on the table died a horrible death. sweet something. irony?

(ok, it's a cheap and easy shot, and maybe the loggers were filthy rich, but can't we think a little larger scale?)

So, if you put an illegal logger and another person in the same area, the tigers only attack the illegal logger? Or do tigers just hunt and kill things?

seems fair . the loggers are looking to kill the tigers for their skins and as aphrodisiacs . the tigers are looking to kill the loggers for food .

modern darwinism .

These tigers are doomed. 500 animals is by any measure the brink of extinction; even if the habitat loss stopped now, the poachers will finish the job. And the habitat loss isn't going to stop right now. Plus the villagers and loggers may begin to do a little pre-emptive machine gun work. Say goodbye to the Sumatran Tiger.

Some believe that eating a small portion of the testicles of a tiger will "greatly increase their sexual prowess."

Let's hope it works the other way around, too.
