There was an episode of Star Trek Voyager where the crew came across a reptilian race who turned out to be their ancestors from Earth. If it's in Star Trek it must be true.

Reptoids a new finding? Anyone from the MTV generation already knows that Retoids exist and have already been here once and we kicked their ass!

I've always pointed out to ufo types that ET doesn't necessarily have to be from the stars, just from a very deep basement. The must think of surface dwellers as being a bit wacky, dealing with the weather and radiation all the time. "Look at that one, her skin has gotten darker from all that nasty radiation!"
