Rush Limbaugh Shows off Mad Photoshop Skillz

Rush Limbaugh site manipulates Kerry/Edwards photo to show Edward's outstretched waving hand completely obscuring Kerry's face, then crows, "This Says It All." Can't he just leave them alone? After all, they are clearly in love. (First link via Linkfilter)
Does this mean Rush will finally stop talking about Clinton and instead give great advice about Kerry?
Why, I remember when Rush warned his listeners to pull their money out of the stock market when Clinton was coming into office when George Bush the 1st was leaving. Just think of all the value Rush preserved for his listeners with that advice!
Wonder if he told 'em the good times would now re-start with George Bush the 2nd and told 'em to put thier money back into the market once Clinton was gone?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Holy Christ, each time I read a Drudge article, I think, "Well, at least he can't sink any lower than this." Today is no exception.

On the Today Show this morning, they played a cheeky Kerry ad in which they make fun of the 'love' theme themselves. Smart move. Co-opt the opponents' strategy and show it for how stupid it is.

Every time I see something like this, I think: the bottom of the barrel is now way the hell up there, and fading from view as we get ever closer to the molten hell in the center of the earth.

It's funny that Rush has a problem with any picture where Kerry and Edwards are too close for comfort, but he LOOOOOOVES pictures of soldiers "blowing off steam" by sexually humiliating prisoners of war.
I wonder if Rush has seen this classic clip [Quicktime link].

Looks like the time is ripe for some Kerry/Edwards slashfic:
Running Mates
Kerry could still hear the crowds cheering as the limousine pulled away from the stadium. It was an incredible feeling--he had never inspired that level of passion before. And he owed it all to the man by his side.
He looked at the boyish face, still glowing from excitement...at the tousled hair he longed to run his fingers through. Everything came so easily to this man, this golden boy. He was charm personified. Kerry felt like a moth drawn to a flame.
"What are you thinking, John?" Edwards asked. Kerry was startled, and didn't know what to say. I was thinking about what your mouth tasted like, he realized. Oh, God. How could he have let this happen?
"Let me show you what I was thinking," Edwards went on, and Kerry realized that his running mate had slid across the broad leather seat until his muscular thigh was pressing deliciously, deliriously against his.
Kerry held his breath--what was happening?--as Edwards's strong arm encircled his neck. He felt the warmth, the incredible softness of this kiss, this incredible kiss, like a revelation. Like the fireworks above the Mall on the Fourth of July.
As they broke apart, finally, for air, Kerry looked at the sculpted, perfect face so near to his own, this marvelous, magical man who was offering himself so tenderly.
"Bring it on," Kerry said, in a husky whisper. "Bring it on."

Haha. Rush has been doing that kind of parody and goofy stuff for years - even before the web he had parody ads, sound clips and songs on the radio show. Any one who visits rush's site knows that 90% of the images on the front page are edited.

How is this a parody? I think there is a difference between:
a) Photoshopping Kerry to make him look like Lurch or adding devil horns to Hillary Clinton and
b) manipulating a photo in such a way that it still looks genuine and then saying "see, look we told you."
I think most people would have considered that photo genuine if they hadn't seen the original.

Well, I think that the photoshopped version, even if it's taken as genuine, doesn't do any actual damage. It's done to make a (theoretically) comical point, so I think it does fall under parody.
In other news, soulhuntre, I'm not seeing anyone call this the end of the world or, you know, give a shit, so maybe you want to turn down the drama queen shit a notch.

Unclinch, dude, I think it's freakin' hilarious. Gotta admit though, that Shadowkeeper's comment "That's nearly a full knuckle's worth of enthusaism, right there." is even funnier than Mt. Rushbo's photoshopping.
And I'll bet Rush and Drudge would both give a lot for some of that sweet, sweet Kerry-Edwards lovin'.

"......and when Rush does parody it's now the end of the world."
soulhuntre - Yes. We certainly went too far when we claimed this photo edit was going to lead to the end of the world. I would like to personally admit that we on the left were wrong - This parody WILL NOT bring about the end of creation as so many here have asserted. It was very wrong of us to go on and on about how it was going to destroy the planet. It was very astute of you to catch this wicked attempt a trickery. Bravo to you and your penetrating wit sir! In these times of trouble, your keen ability to ferret out the truth should be a guide to us all.
Just in case anyone else was deceived by our cruel and unfair hyperbole - This parody WILL NOT bring about the end of the world. And I'm very sorry to those who were made to believe it would.
