According to their lecture schedule it looks like Danny Hillis is going to give a talk called "Progress on the 10,000-year Clock" on September 10th-- so I guess we'll know in a month or so.

I went to Bruce Sterling's talk and it was fantastic as well. I highly recommend folks check out the recording. Really hilarious and acidic commentary on the "Post Human" movement.

I imagine that's metafilter's fault though you think they would have shown some forethought, you know 'cause...

It's also their fault. The speeches are encoded at 128kbps, which is excessive for voice. Also, they don't have id3 tags.
