West Sunset - Photos of Lost Angeles. [some of you may not like that it's a flash site]

Haha, this reminded me of the LA X Press.. what a truly trashy free paper that is :-) I used to pick one up every day before work and scare people in the office with it.

Nice photos, the only thing that bugs me is that most of them could have been taken anywhere where there are a lot of hispanic people, but still.. not bad.

I like the interface. Its the photos that are mediocre at best. Though that Rocky Balboa sign is gold.

i thought the interface was alright but those damn little fluffy clouds gotta go (one thing i hate is what i call 'flash masturbation' - which is the crap that makes you have to sit there and wait through it - UGH, garbage - i'd watch tv if i wanted to do that).

the photos? totally mediocre. i *hope* LA is a little more fabulous than that.

Why is it referred to as "Lost Angeles"? Is that a typo? I was expecting photos of things that are no longer around. No other great city in the world so relentlessly discards its past, I was hoping for a treasure trove of forgotten Los Angeles. This... this is just mediocre.

i think mediocre too--sorry.

That looks more like Mid-Sunset rather than West Sunset. Those photos are pretty boring; never fear, people ... LA is more exciting than that!

jonson, Lost Angeles most likely isn't a typo, it's a common name in these parts. Probably because so many people move here with stars in their eyes only to become lost...

The people in the Westside at least. Most of us in the 'burbs just live our lives like it was Peoria, only with much nicer weather and more to do.

starscream - "these parts" are my parts too. Lifelong Angeleno (Brentwood) - it's what makes me so insufferable.

I agree with calwatch. If people would stop moving to Hollywood or Santa Monica hoping to become the next movie/rock star, or Be Within Fawning Distance of Paris Hilton, there would be a lot less disillusionment.

I thought the photos were mediocre as well, certainly not much better than the film I attempted to see today called "Los." Awful--five minute long shots of mundane places around L.A.--it was the second time I walked out of a movie.
