Found: Hand in Bottle "No one is sure why, but bottles with photographic images of hands have been drifting onto the shores of Clopper Lake in Seneca Creek State Park this summer." (Pictures in the second link, about 1/3 of the way down the page.)

This article is thrilling the high-water thrift-store pants off the art-school kid who is putting the bottles in the lake.

Doubly so now that it's been mefi'ed.

Seneca Creek State Park's history is not devoid of creepy occurrences. It was also the filming site for part of the "Blair Witch Project," the 1999 fake documentary about three student filmmakers who disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Md., while shooting a film. The park's forest and mill were used in the filming.
Ooooohhhhh.....

One reads, "Your question holds more than its answer."

Another states, "You look for an answer as your question waits."

Shoepal, where did you learn the saying, "the Tits"? I have been using it for years but rarely come across other people that use it/know it.

Sounds like someone is using the lake as a giant Magic 8 Ball.

I say "it's the tits" too. I got it from a former co-worker, who also gave me the deathless phrase "get off my vulva!" (translation: "stop bugging me").

aj100, it's in the movie The Girl Next Door. Also Human Traffic, I believe. I heard it in England, years ago, but only recently started working it into my vernacular.

Sidhedevil, a friend of mine says "Get the sand out of your vadge" (as in vagina), which loosely translates to "stop being a wuss" or "stop whining/whinging." Perhaps not deathless, but addictive and rather easy to say "accidentally" in inappropriate contexts.

How big is this lake? All the bottles were found floating in the lake...seems odd none found there way to shore. Wonder if they're thrown out into the lake right before the rangers come to it.

Map of Clopper Lake. (Zoom in one tab, it's in the lower right quadrant) It has a 3.3 mile bike trail around it.
