This is a serious issue, but come on. If nothing else, this could've been added onto the thread two down on the front page.

" Your week is almost up ;)"

You wish. This isn't going away. Maybe you think there should be a time limit on complaining about things like suppression of minority votes, but luckily honest to goodness decent and sane real American people don't. (Loaded enough for you? Learned that from the right-wing).

And your link? The writer is a disingenuous cumwad from the very first sentence:

"John Kerry lost, and there is a lot of sadness going around. But let's face it. It seems he wasn't the man for the job at this time..."

Uh huh, as if George Bush is. Well, maybe that's because I assume that "the job" wasn't "fucking things up".

No matter what anyone writes, there's always some contracting net anus who will complain because...they wouldn't express it that way, and that the bit doesn't have the sheer gravitas the critic craves....

Anuses abound.

Hack the Vote??

Maybe not

This table [pdf] is especially good at refuting the accusations.

This table [pdf] is especially good at refuting the accusations.

No, but nice try. It looks only at a set of counties in question, not at the rest of the state (it ain't an experiment without a control, folks). It includes no information about type of voting machine, or history of voting machine type. It makes no statement about variance of margin, adding no insight beyond historical "victories" by county (which are, after all, utterly meaningless for any purpose than making America look redder than it is).

I'm not saying that the accusations have no refutation (personally, though I'm convinced of the potential for fraud using these machines and it makes me quite uneasy, I'm keeping an open mind about fraud this time around). I'm just saying this ain't it.
