The Invisibility Game. How good is your mouse control when you can't see your cursor? Frustrating. As. Hell.

It got a whole lot easier when I just started hitting SHIFT + TAB followed by enter.. wait was that cheating?

Argh, that game sucks!

Jeez, that's HARD!!!!!!

Oo, thanks PFB, that made it a lot more fun!

Well, I made it through level 5... but hell if I'm going to mess with level 6.
posted by Necker at 1:53 PM on November 19, 2004

level 6 is when the shift-tab thing stops working... i got halfway through by failing once, and placing my mouse where the circle was before using shift-tab to begin and then clicking, but then you have to go back to the start. o.O

fun stuff :)

I can't even get a quarter way through level 6, and I know I never will.

See, I don't need a game for that, I've got a sleepy bluetooth mouse that makes "Find the Cursor" a regular game in my house.

Man, that sucked though.

y0bhgu0d: after that, use the shift-tab trick again to go to level 7 :)

(err, only tab, not shift-tab, sorry :)

Yay, at last, a real use for my tablet PC. Even then my pen control sucked. Fun game, can't get passed level 12 though.

If you shrink your window really small and use your scrollbars creatively, you can cheat your way through quite a bit. You just have to move your mouse outside of the window and avoid hitting the black spaces. The levels get evil.

Too easy to cheat by running your mouse on the outside of the screen - till you hit level 11 and the game screen scrolls and you can't get to the stop sign easily :D

I've got another fun game:

It's called "close your eyes and use the computer".

Let me know if you win...

Okay, I get nothing but a gray box with a 'Go' square in the upper left. If I click that , I get a 'Stop' square in the bottom right. Nothing else on the screen. Would anyone care to explain?

I couldn't even get past level two!

bh: Your supposed to move your cursor from the start box to the finish, except you can't see your cursor. When you land your cursor on the Stop square, it'll turn darker grey. Just click and move on to the next level. If you hit a wall, you'll have to start over. I got to level six (without cheating) and gave up...for now.

um even when I do cheat my way to through the last level when I hit stop it still says I lost (and I'm fairly sure I did it right). I think some of those levels would be difficult even if you could see the mouse. I love the p-word for the 12th level: reallybloddyhard.

The kind of computer game my girlfriend likes, on par with say maybe Road Blocks.

Thanks. She'll get a kick out of it.

I get prompted for a password? WTF?
posted by page404 at 3:52 PM on November 19, 2004

The password is just there in case you want to resume playing at whatever level you were on (without having to work back through previous levels).

Just click the GO button and the game should start. :)
posted by meh at 3:54 PM on November 19, 2004

Umm...sorry. Click the word BEGIN, and then click GO. (a little reduntant, but whatever)

I hate this game so much that I am going to play it for the rest of the afternoon

This is a game?

I have a new-found respect for solitaire-playin' desk jockeys.

level three password: monkeywrench

good luck getting past there.

I did it with my ipaq in no time flat. Maybe a game where all you see is the cursor might be better?

Level 12: reallybloodyhard

Just turn on the "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key" option on for your mouse. You've got yourself a handy radar.

But either level 12 has a time limit or is just plain sadistic. Right when I was about to hit the "stop" area on the fourth< ?> screen, it turns into a circle! Then to be crushed on the next screen by moving walls, with no "stop" button in sight -- I could almost hear the programmer taunting me for cheating. OR was that Nelson Muntz?

Madness Temple, indeed.

You could also bring up an app that stays on top and drag it around to get past most the levels. Like winamp.
posted by bigmusic at 11:16 PM on November 19, 2004

OK, level 12 is plain sadistic, as Blue mentioned. It gets to the point of a guessing game, "Oh, which random circle out of 8 should I choose when any of the wrong ones lead to DEATH?!"
--Spoiler--
On the first choice of circles, it's the circle on the right...and then you have to pick out of 8 and I gave up. Also, that stop->circle thing happens- be careful to drag the mouse from outside the stop to it, and it will change to a circle. Then be ready to click the circle and use your method of cheating. (I used to winamp method)

meh,

I checked out roadblocks kinda clever, but aside from one or 2, not that tough (only 22 levels). Good site with lots of games though. Thanks.

That invisible cursor game... is too difficult for me...
