Chapters in the Sky --- a rich collection of autobiographical aviation storytelling by Paul Niquette. Complete with glossary for non-pilots/enthusiasts. Highlights: two crashes in one day, the flight school riding on the success of Paul's FAA checkride, commuting over LA.

His very first story, his Favorite Moment, describes a flight that ended with the number one killer in private aviation: continued VFR (Visual Flight Rules) flight into IMC (Instrument Meteorological Conditions). In other words, flying in clouds or fog when you're not supposed to. Combine that with his near-stall, and he's lucky he didn't kill his family.
