With a prepared canvas, these two artists create finished paintings in the time it takes bands to play one concert.

I like seeing J Garcia paint during Sector 9 shows, but my favorite is the mad flower arranger who sometimes shows up and vogue-arranges to the music.

Wow, these are some of the best bands in the jam scene today. It's funny how the STS9 paintings look just like they should, as do the Soulive and New Deal paintings. Maybe some synesthete can explain it to me. One band he missed that fits in with the rest is Particle.

We did this at a series of arts festivals my fiancee and I put on here in Ottawa. Local artists of all kinds were on stage with industrial/experimental musicians. Some images: 1 2 and 3. There's more here, but many are shots of the crowd, or robots that were mostly built before the event.

(Self-links, obviously.)

Muckster-I remember seeing the flower arranger out in Great Barrington, MA at a festival. Have you ever seen the Phoenix Risings fire dancers?

Euphorb-These are indeed some of the best. I've seen all of them, including Particle. STS9 and New Deal are my faves, but the first time I saw Keller Williams was on the Acoustic Planet tour this summer with the Flektones, YMSB, Sam Bush and Del McCoury Band and he was awesome, fun and talented.

Jairus-I was hoping someone would show some more painters/paintings done during live music performance.

I think adding visual art effects to concerts builds the ambiance even more and makes it that much more of a mind expanding experience.

Thanks for your comments.
