This one is also hilarious! It's me, selling off my possessions so that I have food to eat! Merry Christmas, everyone!

Ugh.
"Q: "What exactly is it your selling here? "
A: Well if you read the title or the discription, it's pretty plain to see I am selling "THE MOST RIDICULOUS ITEM EVER SOLD ON EBAY" Thats it.. thats all... Nothing else to see here. Move along please.

Q: "is there anything burnt on the cd???"
A: Listen, save us all a little bit of typing and reading time and go read the description again. Everyone else knows whats on it. Why did you have to skip the description.... Don't you know its the most important part of an auction."
Just in case it gets sold. Current price $2.75.

I'd be curious to know what's on it, but not $2.75 curious.

If only it were... somehow... more ridiculous...

Yes, I was expecting something with a little more kick than a cd and some crappy photoshop work. This guy has probably spent at least an hour of his own time putting all of this shit up on ebay, he could of thought of a better punchline.

The auction is alot less interesting than it could have been.

Half assed barely covers it.

This just seems to forced to me. Crazy ebay stuff has to be sincere, like the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and to a lesser extent, the giant cheeto. I want my zany ebay stuff to keep it real, yo.

This could be the most ridiculous fpp ever posted on Metafilter.

I agree, this is just not that ridiculous. Although I did enjoy this parody of Newlyweds:

Jessica:  "Nick come here quick, what is this?"
Nick: "For the 100th time Jessica, thats a COMPUTER"
Jessica: "No baby, not the computer, I mean this thing, on the computer"
Nick: "Woh Jessica, where did you find that?"
Jessica:  "I dunno I was searching for $2000 panties again"
Nick: "Geez Jessica, get off the computer, I gotta bid on this."
Jessica: "Well what is it baby?"
Nick: "It's the most ridiculous item ever sold on ebay!  Do you know how many people want this item"
Jessica: "What do you mean baby?"
Nick: "Shut up Jessica, I have to win this!"
Jessica: Baby?

That final 'Baby?' is perfect. Jessica Simpson in all her befuddled glory.

Can we please stop with the "stupid thing on eBay" posts?
posted by languagehat at 9:51 AM on December 12, 2004

Terrific.

A single link to a stupid eBay item, not even stupid enough to be funny.

I would say Metatalk but why bother. Nobody seems to know what that means anymore, and it is tiresome slapping the dumb front page posts down one at a time.

There's a lot of money to be made with forced ridiculousness, but it requires a laugh track.

"Shut up you old farts! You're all stodgy 'n shit, you don't know what you're talking about! MetaFilter is sooo much better now that we're here."

We tried to warn, but like Cassandra, were duly ignored. Reap the whirlwind, bitches!

Damn, and duhfleming's been on since April. One of those few that squeezed in during Matt's stint at niceness.

You owe Matt $5.00.

Why did no one mention that when Antique Road Show appraises this item 75 years from now, the show will be broadcasted from the moon, by highly trained monkeys.
posted by santiagogo at 11:12 AM on December 12, 2004

As opposed to the highly trained Kenos they have right now?
Sorry.

I think this is a worthy subject for a post, but only because it is such a coup de grace/Jump the Shark/what're-ya-gonna-do-for-an-encore/ad absurdum/going from Wired to Expired/Final Word on the "ridiculous ebay" meme that any further links to ebay should be banned for the next umpteen Webyears.

Let's just agree on that.

who would buy that..?!!

in 5 years i've never complained about the quality of fpps, but this shit has got to stop. this thread isn't even one of the worst, and yet behold it's amazing levels of suckage. i believe we're doomed.

C_D your currency converter is old and tired, and no longer funny.
