aNTROPUs is a 3d animator/modeler that makes some very interesting pictures. There was an animated short that caught my eye called, "The Plumber" ( it's in .rar format, if you don't have the software to view it, you can get it here (Mac) or here (PC) )
Sort of... it's a machine.
Really amazing artwork.

That's some awesome facial animation in "The Plumber." I'm glad to see he's getting Hollywood work now.

[On little bit of a nit-pick, from the interview in your second link, isn't "Antropus" the nickname of a prominent CG artist--the Brazilian guy--and "ZBrush" the name of the actual program he's used to make this stuff?]

Antropus is the Brazilian Guy...like I said, I hit "post" instead of preview or I would have finished that up...(hits head again...doh!)
zbrush is a 3d proggy he uses (one of many). I like that program myself, but it's hard as hell to use

Gyan = I've got a 1,000 running around in my head...but I'm still teaching myself Cinema 4d right now (my 3d modeler of choice). But I make pictures all the time in Adobe Illustrator.

Minor nitpick to an otherwise solid post: the way it's phrased makes it sound like aNTROPUS was a 3d modelling application. Should've been "aNTROPUS is a 3D animator/modeler who makes.."

Hands: I wrote that before you cleared up what(?who?) antropus is. How does a modeler (as in modelling app) come up with pictures, as opposed to a rendering engine?
It seems his site has all his work, so never mind.

I think it's worth mentioning that by clicking around on someone's profile, I ended up getting to a bunch of portfolios for illustrators and photographers who happen to be really good.
I just spent about an hour looking through them all. Impressive stuff.

icey. they are impressive indeed and I've made it a point to not promote one of them for two reasons.
1. I'm self promoting my agency (which is an unwritten "no-no" at mefi)
2. I don't want to promote the SOB's and lose jobs to them (ha!)
but, all that said...yes there are some great folks there...Sashimi makes me want to eat my pencils
