BioMotion Walker

The BioMotion Walker [flash] demonstrates that biologically and socially relevant information about a person is conveyed in biological motion patterns. It allows you to manipulate a number of parameters controlling the characteristics of human walking. You can interactively change biological properties, personality traits and emotional expression of a point-light walker. You can even help out their research here.

And if you turn it all the way up on Male, Light, Nervous, and Happy, it dances a little jig.

Great Googly Moogly that is neat.

For some reason a heavy sad person looks more like a slow-mo of someone jogging to me...

Maxing settings seems to make it spaz out. Which really is reflective of reality.

If you use the buttons to turn it sideways, it's pretty interesting to see what the head does through all those moods. Goes back when happy and relaxed, forward when sad.

There is some evidence that if you always carry your body a certain way when you feel a certain way, you will feel that way if you carry your body that way-IOW a biofeedback loop. I'm walking light and happy from now on!

This is indeed cool, but all the cooler if you are playing the appropriate music, such as the Loop Guru currently playing on RadioParadise.

Dance, little dots, DANCE!

Very neat indeed. I have always been conscious of my stride varying to whatever mood I'm in.

See "Saturday Night Fever" for a more visual approach to this ;)

It would be neat if they had a "walk like an Egyptian" button at the bottom. I'm just saying.
