"Nuts to art." Edgar Leeteg is considered, for good or bad, the poobah of modern velvet painting. He did manage to rate his own museum exhibit and inspire others to create their own special brand of nutty art. (Links have possible NSFW art displays)

A 70's Elvis on velvet was my $13 dirty Santa gift offering this year. It was a definite party hit.

Very nice.

This brings up a story I must bore you with. When growing up, I saw lots of velvet Elvis and Jesus paintings. I saw them so much, that I've fused the two together now. Jesus and Elvis now are one in my brain. So anytime I see/here anything about Jesus...I think of Elvis (and visa versa).

Interesting enough...they both were proclaimed kings, both are thought to be alive by sects of people, both have tons of really bad (but bad meaning good, in a bad way) pictures up of them all over the place.

I think Jesus would look good in a jump suit though, so maybe it's not that bad of an entanglement.

One of those NSFW links: Is the woman on the left a double amputee, or is she just wearing boots?
