The Open Manifesto will never close

Bill Dummond has another new project. Previously he had been involved with the KLF, and now seems to run the Penkiln Burn website.
The Open Manifesto is a new offshoot - which admidst some nice design, captures peoples personal art manifestos- there are some true gems on here. There are also some 10 ten 'charts' which seem to have stopped in August 2004 - including judgement by Stewart Home - a fantastic author.

One of Bill Drummonds other projects was previously been mentioned here. More can be found through the fascinating Penkiln Burn.

Thanks for the great post, mattr. I've been a fan of Drummond (and the KLF, and the K foundation, et al) for years, and I'm glad to hear he's still going strong.

Also, for those of you unfamiliar with his writings, I can strongly recommend "The Manual: How to Have a Number One The Easy Way", "45", and "Bad Wisdom". Required reading for any fan of pop music, art, culture jamming or tall tales told with a Scottish lilt. Alternately stupid, moving, appalling, dead serious and willfully superficial. That is to say, pretty much perfect in my book.

OK, I really enjoyed the parts of "Bad Wisdom" written by Drummond, but the repetitive and hateful rape fantasies in the Zodiac Mindwarp parts were just too much.
That guy is a fucking idiot.

Christ I'd forgotten about that Prepare To Die post - I really could have made a lot more of that. This is a much better effort.

I'd like to second the recommends for 45 - but try and get the nice square version not this ugly standard size paperback they're flogging now.

I find it amusing how much better a writer Drummond is considering Mark Manning (Zodiac, Zed, whatever) is supposed to be the professional journalist. My wife is as big a Mindwarp fan as exists anywhere yet even she couldn't read his Fucked By Rock 'autobiography'. It ended up in the charity shop. Saw him live recently though and he was pretty good considering his brain exploded just a few months ago.
