Friday MeFi: Many of y'all are familiar with Don Hertzfeldt's animated shorts, but have you seen his comic strip? (If you like Cordell Barker or Roman Dirge, you'll probably find this amusing...)

These are fantastic. I especially liked bobby neurotic buys lip balm.

These also sorta remind me of Happy Noodle Boy.

Wow, these are great! Thanks for the post.

splatta, Happy Noodle Boy, definitely! Shoot, I should have linked to JTHM instead of Roman Dirge.

some of the work resembles "Creepy Susie" by Angus Oblong.

The "Bill" strips are brilliant.

Specklet, yea, Jhonen Vasquez and Roman Dirge get mixed up a lot. Same publishing company (Slave Labor Graphics).

Don's new films is completed and coming out soon. Check out this year's tour of the animation show to see it. I caught the animation show when it happened two years ago, and it was a great, great animation festival - easily on par with Spike and Mike's classic animation, if not better. The lineup this year looks great, too.

He's a sick bastard, but a creative one. Some of my friends thought I was decidedly weird when I showed them 'Rejected' and laughed wholeheartedly at it.

I absolutely loved "Rejected" (I AM THE QUEEN OF FRANCE!).

These comics were great... especially enjoyed Bobby Neurotic. Thanks!

Thanks!
Most of "Rejected" has made its way into the parlance of my social group ("I'm a consumer whore!" "And how!"), so it was great to see these.

God, y'all too? They play "rejected" regularly at a bar i frequent, and the "my anus is bleeding" bit has become the standard thing to say whenever you flub a ine on open mic night.

Good stuff.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MY ANUS IS BLEEDING!

Hertzfeldt is a genius. An extremely twisted genius. Thanks for posting this.

Holy shit, thank you so much...I have not laughed this hard in a while. Unfortunately, I'm at work, so I'm hoping nobody comes by to see what's so funny.
