30-some years ago, my mom and I were visiting friends in Niagara Falls (Ontario). One morning we stepped outside and the air was filled with the delicious aroma of what smelled like carmel corn. We went to a few of the touristy snack shops on Clifton Hill, but no one had carmel corn. We "followed our noses" and it turned out that that fragrance was coming from the Nabisco Factory. They gave us some free sample boxes of Mini Wheats, but we never did get our carmel corn fix.

I really love Shredded Wheat, too. The big kind. I do put sugar on it (and milk, of course). Some people think it's the most tasteless, icky thing ever. Not me.

In my youth, I wanted to collect all of the Straight Arrow cards. I ate a lot of Shredded Wheat, which I didn't like, and didn't succeed. Nabisco did though!!

Drool. Love it! Can't get it in South Africa! Argh!

I prefer the big ones, but first pour boiling water on, drain, butter and sugar. Milk if you like. YUM!

Used to live not too far away.. loved that smell. now when I go back, it's to downtown Buffalo near the grain elevators-- where the streets are redolent of fresh made Cheerios

Goofyy reminded me of an argument we had in our office once, which led to a "People's Poll" (we quizzed everyone that phoned in that day)...how do you eat your Shredded Wheat? At the time, I thought everyone had it like I did: with hot milk and sugar. But a woman in my office said she ate hers with hot water and butter, which no one else had ever heard of. Thus started the poll. So how about it, MeFites - how do you prefer your Shredded Wheat?
