Thank you for the update. I've turned off the local news on tv and am watching reruns of Bill Cosby. =)

I was discussing the pros and cons of the Electoral College with a friend on the DC Metro last night (his pro arguments didn't impress me, I think it's time to do away with it, imho) and finally I said that I hoped there was a Brady Bunch marathon on on Nick at Night as that was about as much as I could stand after Tuesday night! -grin

As it turned out I fell deeply asleep at about 8:30 or 9 so it wouldn't have mattered!

weren't we just complaining about the networks and exit polls?

"the lead" is completely arbitrary until ALL votes are counted... it could simply be that there is a Bush-friendly county that hasn't been counted yet and "the lead" will shoot back up for a while....

I really hope "the lead" goes for Gore in the end... But does it really mean ANYTHING til its all over?

Hey, does anyone here know what if any circumstances would either allow or require a re-vote to take place in either a county or the whole state of Florida?

The "lead" doesn't mean anything vis a vis the final election results. But it does mean something when it comes to living within this story, as it happens, as we are all doing. It's part of the process and excitement of the situation this country finds itself in.

There are no provisions for a revote.

The only possible thing would be for the courts to order one. But that's never been done on this scale.

World's worst job: Florida Attorney General.

The total US popular vote is puts Gore ahead by about 200,000 votes.

I propose we organize a "200,000 Person March" on the Mall (which coincidentally is just 1 block away from where I type this) to illustrate to the American people (and to the world) what the margin of victory really looks like!

Probably top out about 250 votes short, based on trend.

Stay calm man. There’s possibly another ten days to wait and two lawsuits to settle. This election could last til Thanksgiving.

341, with 7 to go...

341 with FIVE to go. All medium sized counties that slightly favored bush in the original vote. Which means nothing.

Gadsen county originally had 9565 for Gore and 4750 for Bush, but for 140 more for Gore and 17 more for Bush.

Duval county originally had 107680 for Gore and 153082 for Bush, but found 184 more for Gore and only 16 more for Bush.
