That's just because it has been "freeped".

In any case, I would be very surprised if this thing is resolved by a revote. I would expect Warren Christopher and James Baker to thrash out a settlement behind the scenes.

So what is it with the term "Bump"?
They use all the time on that site. Any idea?

I wondered at first as to why they were all speaking in weird code, and then saw that they were conservatives. So then I realized they probably all had a mental disability of some kind, and I thought it was cute that someone gave them a place to play.

On FR threads are listed by time of most recent post. "Bump" or "Bump to the top" means "all conservatives must read this article/thread".

Doug, that's the nicest way of saying "they've created a closed society with one-way glass" as I've heard. (They have no compunctions about invading liberal forums, phone lines, e-mail addresses, etc. with "freeper" opinion -- but let somebody question what is said there, and they immediately jump on him and get his account pulled, since obviously anyone who disagrees with them is a paid Clinton-Gore operative with the job of "disrupting" Free Republic.

That's basically it. To them, disagreeing with the Party Line is "disruption". But spreading the Party Line everywhere is "free speech." What political movement does this most resemble to you?

What's even more depressing about the Freepers is that they depict themselves as the last bastion of "conservative morality", and show themselves up as a bunch of racist, xenophobic peurile bigots. But that's what you'd expect, really.

So how long 'til the Freep server managers check their referral logs and notice a bunch of MeFi hits? One of 'em wanders on over to see what the huffuffle's about, and finds all these people talking about Democrats and Green and evil Republicans?

Whoo boy, could be quite interesting. It will definetely be nice to have some contesting viewpoints, and I'm sure tiaka will enjoy the support. :-)
