Good luck, blessings, positive thoughts, and an early mazel tov to Mathowie, Kay, and Fiona!
Congratulations! As a new father myself I have to say you won't know what hit you, but it will be wonderful.

Best advice we ever got was that there comes a point where you need to breath or risk tearing the perineum (sp?). So our instructor taught me how to get in my wife's face and tell her "Breathe or tear" and then she had a ceaserean.
Good luck, Matt, we'll understand if you're a little bit less available for the next week. And then its back to work with you!

Why shouldn't this be in the blue? It's #1's seed! Maybe in 20 or so years, #2 will create a metafilter 2.0 or something...

2 eyes?

Yup, everything's looking good so far ...

Best of everything to the family with this new addition!

Fair one : Gaelic
You are fair-minded, wise and peace-loving and are always willing to help others. Your mental capabilities and creativity are well marked with wonderful and original ideas which you need to bring to tangible fruition. Perceptive and understanding of others your positive approach to life and influential nature means that you have leadership qualities. There is great potential for success both financially and spiritually.
Good name. Congratulations!

Congratulations, blessings, and as we Orthodox MeFites say, MaTov!
Welcome to the 21st Century, Fiona, you're well-positioned for a good life. Just promise us you'll never never never use the phrase "Uncle quonsar".
Matt, after admin-ing here for five years, you'll find diaper changing easy. And whenever you're reading this: GET OFF THE INTERNET AND BACK TO YOUR FAMILY.
And Kay, remind him to put down the camera once in a while.
Now, who's gonna be first to photoshop the baby?

Hey, Congrats! Very cute indeed. Great name too.
We just had a baby (boy) a month ago so I totally sympathize. All I can say is:
1) It's the best thing in the world,
2) Buy a sling. Trust me. It's the only way to carry a baby and be able to type at the same time, and
3) Remember #1 when it's 3am, you've spent the last bleary-eyed hour pacing around trying to put her to sleep (with no success), you feel a growing warmth in the diaper region, and then she starts crying. Did I mention it's the best thing in the world?
It really is, especially the first time they look you in the eye and smile...
