After seeing the trailer for Splash Damage's upcoming Quake Wars yesterday, I find those screenshots a little disappointing.

Still, sounds like an interesting game, if not in the run-around-and-commit-mayhem mode that I most enjoy.

(Also, did that animation intro look very goopyesque to anyone else?)

I'm still pissed off about Sid Mier's Pirates being released for the fucking XBox but not the mac. That said -- yeah, Spore probably will get an OSX release. (On another note, Spore is so amazingly cool that it's inspired me to design a computer game, despite my programming skills sucking. I don't know what I'm going to do with all these matrices.)

Stavros - Wright's games have always been less on flashy graphics and more on content. There's a semi-interesting article on him in this week's Newsweek in which it explains that Wright draws a lot from various (non-game) designers. In essence, it seemed to be: have the game work, thats more important than having it look good.

Wright's games lately have plenty of flashy graphics - the level of detail in the Sims 2 for example is stunning.

There's a nice interview over at Wired News with Will Wright about this.

I think it's an interesting idea, I'll probably wind up buying it.
