Hey Timmie and Susie! Uncle Benjamin Franklin is here to explain the United States government to you. Yay for him! And when you're done, you can look at the official kid pages of the CIA and the Navy JAG!

Want more? Sure you do. The US government loves to help shape young minds! Here's the kid page that explains why outsourcing may be sad for daddy, but it's here to stay. Lynne Cheney (author, scholar and wife) tells you kids about the Constitution. And maybe the most important of all: the social security webpage that lets you know why social security is so gosh-darned important. That's all for now! Bye kids! Call us if mommie and daddie smoke pot or underreport quarterly returns, ok?

Is there anything on those pages that you specifically object to or disagree with?

Besides the shitty artwork, poor designs, condescending scripts, and Lynne Cheney, no. The match game on the Social Security page was fun for a while.

Benjamin Franklin was awesome. And God help me but I have a warm place in my heart for the CIA.

The outsourcing one wasn't so bad. I think it was written by a kid.

Also, I don't think PenDevil is a dick.

I feel bad for the Constitution that Lynne Cheney was the only one who celebrated its signing back on September 17. I'm sure all the other fellas had lots of other stuff going on (maybe Dicky was off murdering pheasants while George colored in his book and Laura got her robotic joints oiled?)

The outsourcing article sure did take a perspective and stand by it though. Either way, outsourcing seems to be the immediate future? How is that helpful? So many weasel words that it pretty much says nothing and then repeats it a couple of times.

From the outsourcing article:

Parallel to recent statistics which show that over one-third of jobs lost in the past three years, 104,000, were reimbursed in the last year alone as one result of outsourcing, Mulford has faith that outsourcing will take care of itself with a positive outcome.

What the heck does this mean? Reimbursed? How do you reimburse a job? Does that mean that 1/3 of the people who lost their jobs got unemployment compensation, or something? And what about the other 2/3? Where's the positive outcome for them? (Not even gonna worry about what "parallel" is doing in that sentence.)

Bafflegab.

Um, did y'all look at the CIA kids' site?

Check out the cartoon bear's tour of the CIA, including the memorial wall, which says that only 81 people in the history of the CIA have died serving their country.

They're dropping like flies! They're up to 83, and it's only been a few hours. Won't somebody please think of the spooks?

The outsourcing article was poorly written and embarrassing to have on a government site. Good lord, with all the money the government keeps collecting, you'd think they could hire an English major. Then again, perhaps the article was outsourced.

The Lynn "How much money will it take to make you go away" Cheney bio page is hysterical. It has quizzes at the end just to make sure you were paying attention.

The SSA site seemed pretty condescending to me, but I'm not the target demographic. If I were a kid, I would roll my eyes at the tone. It's like when nurses use the "royal We" when discussing something unpleasant they're going to do to *you*.

But as propaganda goes...it's not so much, really.
