Brunettes on the rise

"There is a desire among women to look authentic in their fake hair color." The demand for brown hair is rising. Is it because the most beautiful women in the world are brunettes? Whatever the reason, this may be just in time to save blondes from extinction. Of course, when the masses flock, the glitterati flee. If you want to be on the cutting edge, orange is the color. So is Ann Althouse positioned to displace Michelle Malkin as a Higher Being?

Metafilter is a "Playful Primate".

Playful are we? What happened to all the playful and just plain fun/weird posts (UFOs, Oak Island, etc)?

Hmmm... I believe I must visit the Fortean Times...

So signs off the brunette with purple and pink streaks.

I guess the perfect woman of tomorrow will have ginger hair and a designer vagina.

I've always wondered - is Michelle Malkin supposed to be hot? Is that why she's popular? Because I couldn't imagine that her writing would make her popular.

Re: designer vaginas - there are now billboards in my city for that crap (and ads in the paper).. crazy.

"People think you're more intelligent when you're a brunette," says Jeanne Brink, a 25-year-old from Cape Town, South Africa, who recently went from ash blond to mocha brown. "But you get much more attention from guys as a blonde."

I disagree. People think you're intelligent if you're actually, well... intelligent. I think Ms. Brink might have some difficulty understanding that point.

Well, psmealey, thanks for clearing that up because we were all wondering about that.

I wonder if we'll ever reach a point where it's as natural for guys to dye their hair as it is for women.

Personally, as a guy, I've never had any problem dying my hair nor have I met any sort of social opposition from doing so. I think men just don't care enough to bother, when compared to women.

From clevershark's link:

The outer lips of the vagina can be enlarged with excess skin and tissue. This enlargement causes an embarrassing bulge in pants or swimsuits.

This used to be known as a "Volkswagen bonnet" in my day (think the Beetle). And it used to turn the lads on! Don't do it, ladies!!!

Er, I think "bonnet" is what us Aussies call a "hood"?

Are we talking about cameltoe here?
posted by rafter at 9:38 AM on June 5, 2005

Isn't cameltoe just wearing pants that are too tight?

I have heard this phenomenon referred to as "FUP" - a charming abbreviation for "fat upper pussy". Particularly obvious in tight, shiny dresses.

Redheads are subject to playground bullying because of their red hair? That's news to me.

Following trends in clothes seems silly enough to me, but following hair colour trends seems worse. Wear the hair colour that suits you best.

Must tell my girlfriend - who's naturally brown but dyes her hair beach-blonde every time. Even though I keep telling her I much prefer her brown (or even, one can dream, red or ginger). Anything but blonde.

*sigh* Shame I love her, really.
