Tokyo Times is an insightful, well-written blog dedicated to Japanese culture, books, current affairs, news, sex, random images and observations of life, as seen through the eyes of an English expat living in Tokyo.

Ho ho ho..those frukin clazy Japs...man they are wacky! Damn, what a blessing that us ex-pats can show just how strange those foreigners are!! Now, where's my blood pudding?

Seems reasonably informative, if learning about Japan is your cup of ohcha.

I used to watch NHK's Today's Japan religiously in the late 80s on LA's KCET (but that was half for the cute bird doing the newsreading than the rather soporific stories they chose), this site doesn't seem that different.

That was quite amusing, and did a fantastic job of negatively impacting my productivity at work...

Mr Bluesky, thanks for the link to that 42 Below ad...that was hysterical!

Yet another "wacky japan" blog counts as insightful?

Don't forget the 2 other ads down the bottom left corner of that vodka page, particularly the gay one - it's a classic. (oh, that tokyo site was good, thanks!)

Tokyo Times is OK, but Mr Bluesky's "Here's to you, Britain!" link had tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks.

The experience as an East Coast American reading a Brits perspective on Japan was disorientating, but refreshing from the trendwatching Japanophile perspective of the west coast.

Well-written, but short on understanding and nuance. Not insightful by any stretch of the imagination.

Jebus Cripes people, get over Japan already.

Thank you. As an ex-pat, I tire of the "wow, look how weird Japan is." Guess what, all foreign countries from where you were born are different. *gasp*

Where are the blogs from other foreign counties? Namibia? Qatar? Ecuador? Tobago?

If you have to ask "Why Japan?" then there is no answer that will make sense to you.
