Yeah, NSFW, but I'm not at work.

Wow, what a strange fetish. I'm not sure even what to say. Dead fish, um... I don't know. I like octopi, very cool. I can understand the art and tatoos, but dead octopus drapped over naked female?

Ok, that wasn't what I was expecting exactly.

But, ok.

Awesome, I am gonna start posting all my porn links to mefi!

Dead? You sure?

This is interesting, but I don't think it's really Metafilter material.

It's like live action tentacle hentai.

greasepig writes "This is interesting, but I don't think it's really Metafilter material."

It's odd. It's artistic in a twisted sort of way. AND it's interesting in a fetish sort of way. I would have thought those criteria alone make it an admirable post. 5 minutes of your time to be weirded out in a not-over-the-top-shocking way. Thanks growatentacle.

Definitely more interesting than a simple porn site. I liked it. More weird links!

It's the 2nd link, Tonto, that weirded me out

I agree peacay. This isn't just porn. The images definitely have a disturbing quality and they are certainly in the realm of art in a way that most porn isn't.

octopus draped over naked female

Whenever I think I've seen all the really weird fetishes, a new one comes along....

The photography on the first link is actually rather interesting. The subject matter ain't much my thing on most of them, but it is still an interesting photographer.

What's up with the photog. I wonder? I naked woman with an octopus over here genitals. OK, weird fetish. Some naked, torpedo boob lady with a strange look on here face. A fairly normal shot of a fetching topless woman looking in a mirror. A naked woman with a strap-on that has a roll of toilet paper over the dildo.

What the hell is the common thread?

Times have been tough for the Suicide Girls, ever since their text ads were turned away...

Best to perhaps peruse the introduction which gives a pretty interesting explanation of the photographer as well as the Carlton Arms Hotel where he took the pictures. Some very interesting and provocative stuff here, and the photography is very good even if you don't care for the subject matter.

It's the kind of thing I hoped for when I was 18 and went to Europe on a whirlwind Eurorail frenzy. Mostly it was me and Australian blokes snoring in bunk-beds at the hostel.

I think the photography stands on its merits, but some of it is definitely porn.

The Octopus blog is deeply strange: I was fascinated & slightly appalled by its tentacle-y contents. The first link isn’t working for me, but I think I’ve seen enough cepaholopods for one day already...

One of the links on that blog led me, by the way, to this list of books at what presumably is a Japanese book-collector’s site: they’re mostly old volumes of Natural History, and clicking on each title shows a small but quite interesting selection of images from the relevant book.

I am sure I have seen an octopus on someone's head in a famous image. Maplethorp?

Y'know like Whoopie in the bath of milk.

BoingBoing post with links to all sorts of Japanese octopus-fetish goodness, starting with Hokusai.

I think this is friggin awesome. Arty octopus porn. I love it.

Much better than another Iraq/Bushsucks post, although I sometimes like those too.

This is a pretty old 'fetish' (man, I hate that word) and it's not as strange as you might think. Most of those pictures are quite pretty and intense and I wouldn't consider them pornography. Ironically, I was just reading about how people claimed the original King Kong was pornography and 'twisted' because it had this big black animal grooving for this lilly white woman.

To whoever thinks this is NOT mefi material... Have you seen the crap littering the front page lately?

Sheesh, this is probably the most interesting thing poster here in weeks.

Great stuff (I like octopodes) and that's some interesting work by Bob Coulter. There are some other subjects that you can peruse from the Introduction link.

Thanks growabrain, that was really interesting. The octopus is an amazing critter. Loved the fifth image from the bottom by Ken Brown in the Octopus Blog. And languagehat, that Hokusai image is wonderful. There's another one along similar lines. And misteraitch thanks for the excellent link to those lovely old prints. Nice.
