The Art of Fuko Ueda From bighorn sheep to pet turtles to musical instruments, these paintings depict a bizarre and beautiful world filled with strange creatures.
On another note, the women in his paintings look simultaniously sick and attractive. Well, some of them just look sick.

I really like his work--but it almost seems to derivative of earlier surrealist work, such as M.C. Escher and Salvador Dali. I like how he mixed it with a sort of anime style, but I think I'd like it even more if he also combined ancient Japanese art styles. But then I'm no professional art critic (duh).

This is an awesome post. I love these paintings or drawings. This is my favorite, I think, the straight razor is kind of chilling.
Does anyone know where it might be possible to buy prints?

They are cute but I found the splashes really annoying or untidy or unecessary or something. If I bought one I'd want to clean it off. I know it's cute to have a trademark or a sigil or something but ummm...I dunno - sloppy. Thanks anyway Mayfly wake. As I say, intrinsically I find them beautiful. I just needed to snark about something ;-)
