Mega64! Some easily-amused folks with a video camera and a local public access TV channel have created the ultimate video game system. The Mega64 literally places you in the game. And by "the game" any game for any system that makes you look like a total jackass if you try to act it out, and by "you," I mean two unwilling playtesters.
Thrill to Solid Snake infiltrating a grocery store! Puzzle out where to fit a walking Tetris piece! Laugh as some bozo spits out coins while saying "Barf!"
While you're at it check out the Splinter Cell videos hosted off-site.

I saw some stuff from these guys a while back and could never remember what they heck they were called. Thanks!

I was laughing so hard at that Metal Gear video that at one point I started choking. Thanks for that.

The Tetris video is a metaphor for the human condition. I mean, he's just looking for a place to fit in.

We used to play Metal Gear Solid back in the day when I worked at a computer game store. We had Carboard Box #1, #2 and #3 all with the name written on the side and with little eye holes cut out. Used to freak the shit out the manager in the stock room by leaping out of the box and dragging him aside whilst the other two guys hummed the theme tune.
Ah.... Happier times.

Most of the vids are pretty out there, the Paperboy one was just weird. It would be useful to see a few minutes of each game they're emulating so that they made more sense.
Mildly amusing but could have been so much more.
The Ghosts and Goblins one was pretty stupid though.

As someone who has played his fair share of Paperboy, the video was dead on and it frickin' killed me.
Definitely a lot of "in jokes" from the actual games, but that's what makes it so funny, if you're familiar with them.

"fyi, this is a SomethingAwful creation."
Not remotely. Something Awful produced/sells the DVD set and the makers are members of SA. That's where it ends AFAIK.

Well, right, SomethingAwful is mostly comprised of it's members (there's a front page??), and this was created by some of them.
