Full disclosure: I don't have anything to do with the site, but they do link to my music.

They're not happy with the 9.2 Pitchfork gave Illinois?

Uh, okay.

It's a brilliant album, btw. And I love The Decemberists to pieces, and can't wait to see Colin Meloy doing a solo set on Wednesday at the Seattle Zoo, but I'm afraid I'm not quite sure of the point of the FPP.

Not a very "snappy" comeback...c'mon, Pitchfork is such an easy target. All they got is *use nerdy guy voice here* "Ummm, excuse me...um excuse me...miss? i do not believe you listened to the whole album as you did not reference the latter tracks."*end nerdy voice* C'mon...lay into 'em! They gave it a 9.2 and didn't even listen to the whole thing...those last few tracks are worth at least a few tenths of a point, right? Those bastards.

Does anyone even care what Pitchfork thinks anymore???

Best o' the web? FUCK NO!

I don't think they were unhappy with the review. And I like pitchfork, and think pitchfork-bashing is lame. I just thought the writeup was funny. You have to take the whole site with a grain of salt.

Bashing Pitchfork is like kicking three-legged kittens.

I really don't see it as bashing pitchfork.

The Decemberists are boring. This blog is kinda interesting, I guess. Sufjan Stevens is pretty boring.
Is this all for indie rock college graduates who need to be entertained by moderate snark over the not-snark-worthy?

Bashing Pitchfork is like kicking three-legged kittens.

Bashing pitchfork is much more like making fun of and occasionally cuffing or grabbing by the scruff of the neck a kitten who has gone batshit insane and is running around the house randomly clawing things like nice furniture and your leg.

I liked the post. I am highly amused. You may now, however, return to your MetaIrony of criticising the review of the review.
