nVidia GPU is seven times faster than NV20...the return of misleading headlines.

It's worse than misleading, it's internally inconsistent. The GPU they're talking about is the NV-20. I think it's just a typo; they meant to say "...faster than the NV-15" which is the chip we all call the "GeForce 2 GTS".

"Nvidia is now introducing a programmable GPU, seven times faster than the previous Geforce 2 Ultra, the NV20."

Would have worked if they'd written "a programmable GPU, the NV20, seven times faster ..."

*sigh*

Anybody feel like sentence diagramming for kicks?

Bar english problems, the secret documents have arrived at several organisations. Seven times faster is on the high-end of revelations, the average is three.

Natch.

I don't trust any article that says: "...an faster clock rate."
