"Every night MSN Autos analyzes prices from over 90,000 gas stations across the nation to show you gas prices in your neighborhood....Don't eally know if this is as up to date as it says it is. Put in a zip code you know and see what you think. After loading a page you have to scroll down to the bottom to see the local gas station data. A timely link for U.S. readers.

Before the browser could finish displaying the page, I got

Gas price data for your ZIP Code is currently unavailable. Please enter another ZIP Code.

WTF?

Got the same thing, but re-entered the zip and it worked.

Interesting, the current rate of increases is actually breaking these tools. Usually a two-day old price is a bit useful, but now it's worthless.

I can tell you it's out of date, at least in places. All the ones in my zip code (Charlotte, NC) are showing $0.40 or so less than they were charging last night, and it's gone up another $0.50 since then. I paid $3.50/gallon this morning because I didn't have 2 hours to wait last night.

It is completely out of date.

awesome, Firefox and Safari are both persona non grata. IE for OS X is not really an option.

I'm tired of hiding my UserAgent, I just want to come out of the closet and BE ME.

I've been using GasBuddy for city-by-city data, provided by users. And it works on a Mac.

I've been tapping the GasBuddy site PortlandGasPrices for some time. Since I live in Portland, it's relevant, but since I ride a bike and use public transportation, it's strictly for my perverse amusement.

Ya know, maybe this is the week I ditch the Macintosh.

My zip's got prices from before last night. I awoke this morning to discover gas had jumped 25 cents/gallon at the closest corner market, and as much as 75 cents a couple of miles away.

works in firefox on PC, stupid Microsoft

The GasBuddy sites, or at least my local one, seem to be much more up to date.

I prefer GasPriceWatch.com. Its vaguely wiki, but with a trust system built in. Also, it lists many more gas stations (for my area anyway) than the MSN site does.

Out of date. I saw 3.33 for premium in the Maryland suburbs of DC

You know what makes their lack of Safari support really crappy? If you have the Debug menu enabled, select "Windows MSIE 6.0" as your user agent. The page will load fine.

Assholes.

This is close to being up to date in my neighborhood. I got gas this morning at the one they said was $2.88 and it was only $.05 off.

$10 to fill the tank for a week. :)

Opera on OS X works if you tell it to pretend it's IE...and as everyone else has indicated, it's WAY out of date...but then we saw prices change in one afternoon and again overnight (last night)...can't wait to see what they are this afternoon. Shades of Germany in the Depression, when the price of a cup of coffee changed during the time you drank it...

It seems to be 4-5 days behind. The prices look accurate for Saturday Night/Monday morning, but definitely a $.30 lag here in Orem UT.
