Is our children learning maths?

Friday Flash Fun, and other games from the educational entertaining Maths is Fun. Just don't tell the kids they're learning.

If we have to call it "Maths" instead of "Math" (ugh), shouldn't it be "Maths are fun?"

grouse: no. It's singular.

On the other hand 'Is our children learning maths?' might want to undergo that correction.

I was kidding. That said, most professional dictionaries (OED, American Heritage, M-W) either call it "plural treated as singular" or a mass noun, not just a singular.

Games like this remind me of how mathematically inadequate I have been and will be for the rest of my life. I hope my kid never needs help with his homework.
