Cabinet is the new Escapist

The Cabinet National Library. A charming piece of dry, conceptual humor. A little banal, perhaps. There is also a hidden agenda.

Yes, those Cabinet folks are mighty clever. Plus, I hear that they are quiet and dress nicely.

This is possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life!

They have peanuts, beer, an umbrella, and a pillow. Why doesn't my library have any of that? This is so adorable, although I'm sure they weren't going for adorable. I wonder how many visitors the library's had?

Someone needs to design a nice, comfy folding chair that'll fit in one of the drawers when it isn't being used.

I quite like this, and it reminds me of the visitor center at Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

Yes. Yes it does.

Sina Najafi, Cabinet's Editor-in-Chief, has also recently written a wonderful essay on the two paths in pedagogy.

One is the Path of Pain, and the other the Path of Wonder. Like many people, I have experienced both...

I think that thing's great. Funny and not too clever. I want to visit.
