Martian dust devils (gif movies) NASA’s Mars rover Spirit has caught a bevy of dust devils racing across the surface of Mars.
This one is pretty amazing really. I thought I saw Elvis in the last devil.

Oh yes, this is great! Brought to you by the same people who named the 10th planet Xena and her moon sidekick Gabrielle. I can't wait to go to the warrior princess planet for spring break.

Martian dust devils? Bah! I know invading Venusian Geyser Demons when I see them!

That's fascinating.
So... dumb question... this means Mars has an atmosphere? I hadn't realised that.

It does. Much thinner than ours, and it's mostly CO2, but it is an atmosphere.

There are devils on Mars? That explains the upcoming Crusade to the planet.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

I'm speechless. Or nearly so, anyway.

These, thank everlasting fuck, are merely temporary nicknames, apparently.
Also, the dust devils are very very cool. Thanks!

That's just the best gallery of Martian dust devils, ever! Plus, Spirit is almost done taking pictures of the moons, and will soon be directed to look for shooting stars (bottom of article).

This is an excellent step towards explaining the obvious lack of trailer parks on Mars.

See them tumbling down
Pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found
Drifting along with the tumbling tumble weed
...(just seemed appropriate, somehow).
