Harriet Miers's Blog!!! Silly parody web site in the tradition of the Jeff Gannon blog (related: see Knot Jeff Gannon) and the short-lived Osama blog (not too many internet cafes in Baluchistan apparently), or light-hearted response to this really obvious bit of astroturfing by FOBs (friends of Bush) known to bend the truth a little to help out a pal in need?

I'm surprised to see progress for America supporting her, given all the hatred toward her from conservatives.

IMO, the best political strategy is for democrats to claim that she's just about the best thing they could have hoped for, and simply say right out that George Bush has kowtowed to them.

It'll completly demoralize the zelots.

Wouldn't it be funny if Souter and I got married? Like our kids would automatically be Supreme Court Justices! j/k I know how the Constitution works.

Heh.

Actually Miers's involvement with a rather famous Presidential memo makes her a pretty interesting character.

Clearly they were given advance notice, which hints at a "special relationship" with the Administration (a la Armstrong Williams perhaps?). How often do you see a relative unknown develop "grassroots" support literally overnight, complete with a web site featuring a "video vault" and audio clip section?

Ha, Great link clevershark. First I'd read of it. Being a Texan and not one from Dallas, I can assure you any High Society Dallas Native is a frightening hateful bitch. All of them.

Anyone remember the time on the Web when this would have elicited a "Harriet Miers Ate My Balls" parody site? Ah, 1994.

Also notable: the I love Karl Rove blog is still maintained fairly regularly.

johngoren, I was just reminiscing about that the other day. I was mentioning about how something or other ate my balls and was met with blank stares, so I had to explain about the "ate my balls" mania back in the day. It also reminded me of when I explained it to someone, they didn't believe me and I showed them that there was a whole Yahoo directory category devoted to it. Which of course reminded me that I remember when directories were the shiznat and google didn't exist. *sigh* You get old so fast on the internets.

You know, I would give just about anything to be on one of Dubya's search committees. "I nominate. . . Me!"

As I like to say he inadvertently puts the "con" in "conflict of interest".
