The elevator show was cool, but the amazing motion tracking LED installation was an unexpected bonus. There are many more photos in the topoftherock flickr tag.

Definitly the best view of Manhattan from a building. I hadn't heard they closed it. Glad its open. It used to be called the RCA Building.

It was closed ostensibly for "renovation of the Rainbow Room", but really because the World Trade Center had cornered the observation deck market. There was even talk of closing the one on the Empire State Building.

Wikipedia has a recent high-resolution exterior shot where you can see the rooftop fences.

There’s a genuine excitement at TOP OF THE ROCK™, inspired by our sponsor partnerships with [...] Target®, the most dynamic and innovative retailer in the U.S.

Huh? What next? McDonalds as a Michelin 3-star restaurant? Or is Target in the US completely and totally different to Target down under?
