Wow. That was awful. Then again I have a feeling that only a handful of MeFites are going to "get" this one.

Urgh. Just when we thought we'd finished apologizing for Bryan Adams, too.

It really, really, really made me miss Quebec.

Le awesome shwa she shwa oh la la bonjour! (mandated French translation)

Response #1: Ce. Qui. La. Baise?

Response #2: Well, then, it's not just the US. Good to know.

Defect of the sound reproduction. It was terrible. Other side I have a feeling that only one handle of MeFites go "obtain" this one.

Fantastic! This is the funniest thing I've seen on MeFi in a long time!

I want that thirty seconds of my life back... and the technology to wipe my memory of what I saw and heard.

Something's wrong, I didn't see any John Waters clips there. What's the matter, is American crap too good for you?

It's like one of those terrible moving Flash collages, but with real people!

I'm really curious about the process by which people find things like this on the Web. Docgonzo, care to share....?
posted by ParisParamus at 3:07 PM on January 3, 2006

Wish I knew, really. The link was sent by a Montreal-based comrade; judging by the page text, this is a promo/teaser for an art installation that promises more of the same. Awesome.

The only thing I can ID for sure in the clip is Stef Carse, who is (in)famous in la belle province for writing the francophone version of Achy, breaky heart. No, really.

I really must visit there as soon as possible.

WhooHoo! That was wonderful. Really.

At first I thought it was from France ... but people are saying Quebec.

OK, that counts as an excuse.

Uh, wow... what WAS that?

That was the mainline, tapped straight from the vein. Pure, unrefined Québécois craptacularité, awsome in its splendor.

Oh hey, I notice terminus1525 also has information on the -40 compilation of reworked Canadian propaganda films of the 1940s. Besides having music by the likes of Akufen, Lowfish and Venetian Snares (this collection has one of his most atypical and interesting pieces ever), the mighty voice of Lorne Greene resonates all over the collection. The chance of running across the CD/DVD box set at Walmart is slim indeed so watch what you can of it on Zed starting tonight.
